Cults-and-Crafts Workshop
Last weekend I delivered a workshop in Peckham called Start Your Own Cult. It was part of the Alternative Press Festival and included my powerpoint presentation on developing cosmic vision and charisma skills, member management, etc. Plus a guided lesson in writing your own cult’s story in a Watchtower-style pamphlet for future promotion and recruitment. People seemed to like it, but not many tried the Kool-Aid.

At one point some people from BBC’s radio 5 politics show showed up. They were meant to do a piece on cult tips for the UK’s current political leaders, but they ended up changing it to: “If our leaders were comic book characters, who would they be?”. How uncontroversial. And anyway, aren’t we already ruled by wacky cartoons?
